We’ll need to serve at least 4 things:

  1. The Divorce Petition. This is usually a two page document that covers what you are applying for; some information about the marraige and the contact details and addresses for both parties.
  2. The Notice of Proceedings. This is also a two page document that looks a bit like a letter to your ex partner. It confirms that the divorce has been requested and provides information to allow them to go online and respond to the Petition.
  3. The Acknowledgment of Service. This is the form that your ex-partner will need to complete and return to Court if they dont want to respond online. If they choose to complete the paper form and post it back to Court, they will need to send this and the Unique Reference Number.
  4. The Unique Reference  Number. This is a one page document. Your ex partner will need to send this back with the Acknowledgement of Service if they do not want to respond to the Divorce Petition online.
