Whilst it’s rare that people we’re serving don’t accept the documents, its often a concern that they will present as evasive or aggressive when we are carrying out the instruction. We’ll usually ask for information relating to the subject (the person we are serving) as part of our assignment. This is to assist us in trying to establish that the subject is present before we make out initial approach.

We always conduct ourselves with professionalism and sensitivity as we are effectively representing our client as their agent. This requires us to have a deep understanding of the process and effect of the documents we are serving. Fortunately, we have acquired this over 25 years of working in the industry.

Where subjects do start behaving in a manner that’s aggressive, we work diligently to defuse the emotion associated with the visit.

It’s always our preferred outcome to personally serve the documents, but, depending on the documents themselves, it might not actually be a requirement that the subject has to accept the documents from us.
